The KZN Day Clinic offers a cost-effective alternative to major hospitals for patients who require minimally invasive surgery. Procedures such as plastic surgery (cosmetic and reconstructive); orthopaedic surgery; ear, nose and throat surgery; maxillofacial and dental surgery; as well as gynaecological and urological services, including IVF, and even general surgery are performed on the premises on a “same day, in and out” basis.
The clinic, which has been in operation since 2014, is home to around 60 of Durban’s top doctors and specialists. It offers a high standard of care at rates that are much lower than those charged by full-service acute hospitals.
The KZN Day Clinic is open to all patients and accepts all medical aids. We have two operating theatres and 11 day beds, which can accommodate up to 15 patients a day. Our small wards allow for personalised attention, ensuring that our facility does not feel like a hospital, even though it offers the same high standards as large hospitals.

Modern medicine has advanced to such a degree that procedures that used to be major operations can now be performed in a single day. By using minimally invasive techniques, and anaesthesia with little to no side-effects, patients can be admitted and discharged on the same day.
No septic or infected cases are treated in the clinic, so the chances of catching a hospital super bug are dramatically reduced.
We specialise in day cases, so that you will find that the bureaucracy is kept to a minimum and you will be efficiently admitted and personally cared for by well qualified staff.
From a cost-saving perspective, our overheads are much lower than large hospitals’. These savings are passed on to our patients, who can expect to pay up to 40% less for their procedures. This is particularly attractive for patients who are covering their costs themselves, for example when having fertility treatment or cosmetic surgery. Also, most medical aids pay for all procedures in day clinics in full without co-payments.
Our size also allows us to use a greater percentage of fully qualified registered nurses, the effect of which you will notice when under our care.
